Improved quality and longer shelf life
The advanced citrus washing line is an efficient and high-quality way to clean citrus fruit, with the aim of improving product quality and extending shelf life. The cleaning process includes washing, brushing, drying and detecting. With the help of HD cameras and infrared lamps, even the smallest mold spots are detected.

Joeri Doomernik, New Business Manager at Looije Packing, says: “Thanks to our advanced citrus washing line, we were able to support many customers last year in extending the citrus season. Efficiency and quality through technology
The citrus washing line, developed by MAF Roda, uses a combination of air and water atomization. Through the entire cleaning process of washing, brushing, drying and detecting, only the best fruit remains for packaging. A nice additional advantage is that there is much less product loss. Doomernik continues: “Our experience is that no less than 50% of the products can still be delivered in the quality that the end customer expects.”

Capacity and flexibility
Thanks to the versatility of the washing line, Looije Packing can process a wide range of products, including oranges, mandarins, lemons, grapefruit and limes. In addition, it is possible to process large and small orders on the line, making it easy to scale up and down.
