Looije Packing has started cooperation with Roodpunt

In Zevenhuizen, at the Jan Hendrikspad, Looije started this cooperation last Monday. It concerns a triangular partnership between the company Roodpunt, grower Pim and Looije Packing.

Over the past year, a lot of hard work has gone into the start of this cooperation. All the requirements to meet the certifications on site turned out to be quite a challenge.

Now everything is running properly, we expect to pack 3.6 million kilograms of pointed peppers every year. This is about 12.7 million packages, so a big challenge awaits us!

In the high season, the peppers are packed straight from the greenhouse in flowpack, banding or bag packaging. A unique concept, which we are excited and confident about. During the low season, growers have little or no work. We want to fill this period with the input from Spain.

Lukasz Broniszewski and Alberto Almeida are responsible for our production in Zevenhuizen. Jochem van Leeuwen has final responsibility as location manager.

The location in Zevenhuizen will work closely with Looije Packing Waddinxveen. This means that staff currently working in Waddinxveen or Zevenhuizen can be work at both locations. Our locations can benefit from each other’s knowledge and strength, and we are convinced that both locations can operate successfully.
